The art of food will soon be on display as one of Chicago’s underground suppers takes a step out into the public for a grand Mexican celebration. While Yo Soy Underground Supper hosts mainly secret suppers, it will share its Inspired-Mexican fare with a larger foodie community in collaboration with the Chicago Urban Art Society (CUAS), Sunday May 5, 2013 at 6:30pm. This event requires a pre-purchase seats. Beverage sponsorship provided by Indio Beer featuring special beer cocktails presented just for this event.

Over the course of the years, Yo Soy founders Mikey Corona and Brian Riggenbach have been satisfying their gastronomic curiosities while also building recipes that showcase their passions of food and hosting. The evening will end with a showcase of local performing artists, keeping true to a typical Yo Soy Dinner party which celebrates arts in all forms from culinary to visual and performance. Come and enjoy a unique “one-night only” dining experience and learn about underground suppers in Chicago.

Admission is $55 (+tax & tip) and includes a four-course meal, drink pairings and a live performance from the Mexican Dance Ensemble. Seats must pre-purchased via website: www.yosoychicago.com

This will be the Chicago Urban Art Society’s second installment of the inaugural group show “Medley” that exhibited on May 11, 2012. “Medley” series presents artists that work within the genre of collage or, assemblage. Contrary to the general publics knowledge of this medium as simply affixing papers, ephermera, or objects to a two dimensional surface, the Curator selected a grouping of national and international artists practicing collage-work in both two and three dimensional techniques.

Looking beyond the expected and pushing constructing boundaries within the digital, analog and sculptural collage culture, “Medley” encourages viewers to consider, “What you think of collage can always change.”.
