The Chicago Urban Art Society was asked by WBEZ.org’s Partnership Program to nominate a Chicagoan who had a unique story. So, CUAS nominated our friend Adolfo Hernandez who is also Advocacy Director for Active Transportation Alliance and serves on Mayor-elect Rahm Emanual’s transition committee. Our HAPPY FRIDAY party is not to be missed. Home grown bike fashion and accessories will be available for sale. The local bicyclerati will be pedaling out on the runway on their favorite rides flaunting their own style with a little help from the fashion savvy folks at Rapid Transit Cycleshop, Ciclo Urbano, Blue City Cycles, Copenhagen Cyclery, and Roscoe Village Bikes. City event offers ideas for creative community

Chicago plays host to numerous art expos throughout the year, from Hyde Park’s 57th Street Art Fair to the long-running Old Town Art Fair.
But on Saturday, the city hosted a fair that focused less on the art than on those who make it.

BE A PART OF THIS ON Friday, March 11th: A design charrette is an exercise that lets many people provide input on a design model. Using the Chicago Bike Map and the Bike 2015 Plan as a springboard, we are inviting people to map out their ride to work, pinpoint issues that affect safety, and identify ambitious plans for the future.
